The Internet is a great mediator. Not only can learning be a rich, interactive, community based experience, but it is affordable to all. Education is not longer the domain of Universities alone as the Internet allows distribution to a large audience for minimal cost. 

The online format also allows for realistic simulation based training - for example those undertaking the Green Card Carbon Footprinting module will fill in a calculation spreadsheet during the course of the module and practice undertaking a real like carbon footprint. In addition it is noted that much learning takes place through our social networks and through exploration.
